Paying in Crypto Becoming an Everyday Reality

Making cryptopayments an everyday reality has been the PumaPay vision since our inception. Just as the age-old phrase of “Rome wasn’t built in a day” cryptopayments started from humble beginnings. The origin of the first-ever crypto payment back in 2010 where an individual paid 10,000 BTC for 2 pizzas is infamous in the crypto industry, as those bitcoins have gone on to be worth over $100 million. Almost 10 years later, however, crypto payments have taken a huge step forward, opening doors to almost every industry in the world.

The ease and transparent nature of crypto makes it a widely accepted means for donating to charities. Charities such as Fidelity Charitable, the Human Rights Foundation and the Binance Charity Foundation all accept crypto. Most recently the Rainforest foundation announced that they accept cryptocurrencies to help save the rainforest.

Suzanne Pelletier, Executive Director at the Rainforest Foundation commented saying “Business, as usual, has gotten us to this point. Philanthropy, as usual, won’t get us out. We need innovative solutions, and no one is more innovative than cryptocurrency users.”
